It's just the way things are. You might as well be asking why the sky is blue.

Also, on a side note, there are many many differences between Alpha and Onasi. Onasi deals significantly more damage than Alpha, is faster, smarter, stronger, has better reflexes, and so on. It is fortunate, that they are not allowed to interact with the players, otherwise no one ever would attempt to kill Onasi.

A couple of serverside changes have been done to ansion. For the sake of not confusing version numbers, the current version shall be referred to as beta6b, but there is no need to download a new pk3 file, and it's still named beta6.

Changelog:
  • 1st area: main hack time reduced to 1s (formerly 4s).
  • 3rd area: reworked the defense exit doors from control centre.
  • O Scout has 600 ammo for disruptor now (up from 250).
  • D Assa can no longer detkill people. There is a 1s deployment time for detpacks.

Also, please don't lame the transmitter (second area, red station). Yes, it is possible, and it will be fixed. I just didn't want to push a version for merely adding a single wall to the map.

I didn't want to overcomplicate things. I could have locked the doors but then that part would have been removed anyways. And I was not a fan of adding some serverside invisible wall that makes everyone rubberband because your client doesn't have it.

It's a beta map and we are there to beta test it. I hope we can all just agree on not doing it for the next few games until I patch it.

Ansion beta 7 is up on server.

Changelog:
  • 1st area: main hack time increased to 1.5s (up from 1s).
  • 1st area: alternate hack slightly moved closer to o spawn.
  • 1st area: added an additional wall to properly block the red station from first area.
  • 1st area: defence spawns closer.
  • 1st area: offence spawns further.
  • 1st area: added more cover.
  • 2nd area: added more cover.
  • 2nd area: added ramps leading down and up from red area to green area.
  • 2nd area: replaced the dish with a new model.
  • 2nd area: jedi can now properly damage the powergenerator destructible parts.
  • 2nd area: powergenerator destructible health increased.
  • 2nd area: added new siegeicons.
  • 2nd area: door to trains from o spawn is now locked until hacked because logic.
  • 3rd area: fixed the trigger_hurt in the emplaced gun room.
  • 3rd area: control centre enlargened.
  • 3rd area: replaced the shield/ammo generator with a small shield, that has a cooldown of 50s.
  • 3rd area: clipped the merc ship so people jumping onto the cockpit will no longer fall to their death.
  • 3rd area: added additional cover.
  • 3rd area: increased Alphas and Onasis health by 200.
  • 3rd area: transferred 1 hp from Alpha to Onasi to better reflect reality.
  • 3rd area: added anti laming stuff.
  • 4th area: added a forcefield barrier around the locks, it can be disabled from the side room (2s hack time).
  • 4th area: lock healths reduced by 50 percent.
  • 4th area: added an alternate route from defense spawn to code area.
  • 4th area: added 2 ysalamirys to d spawn, they respawn every 20s.
  • 5th area: offence spawns further away.
  • 5th area: defence spawns closer.
  • 5th area: hack time reduced to 2s.
  • O Tech: now has 75 hp, can have up to 25 shields, movement speed reduced to 110 percent (down from 120).
  • D Tech: movement speed reduced to 100 percent (down from 120).
  • O HW: movement speed increased to 100 percent (up from 86), health reduced to 80 (down from 100).

Well, it's been a while.. Beta 8 is now up on server.

Changelog:
  • General: Significantly reworked first area.
  • General: removed unnecessary cover.
  • 2nd area: reduced yellow and green hack times.
  • 2nd area: removed the o shield/ammo generators.
  • 3rd area: side room enlargened.
  • 3rd area: transferred 1 hp from Alpha to Onasi to better reflect reality.
  • 4th area: removed the secondary force field protecting the primary force field...
  • 4th area: alternate hack now unlocks a lift and a side route.
  • 4th area: the locks can now only be targeted by heavy weapons/saber.
  • 4th area: Data Centre enlargened.
  • 5th area: The side route has been closed off.
  • D Assault: reduced the amount of dets it can carry from 5 to 1.
  • O Tech: reduced movement speed to 100 percent.
  • O Demo: has 20 trip mines and 10 det packs now.
